MOSCOW, Oct 27 (PRIME) -- The electric power output of Russian power holding Inter RAO grew by 11.9% on the year to 86.465 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in January–September, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Thermal power output increased by 12.8% to 28.032 million gigacalories.

Power exports soared by around 80% on the year to 15.619 billion kWh in the period, hitting a record for the past 10 years thanks to higher exports to Finland and the Baltic countries due to a cold winter and spring, a hot summer, low output in the region because of low water content and lower output at windmill farms.

The growth of power for energy sources and prices for quotas on CO2 emissions for thermal power plants in Europe also contributed , Inter RAO said.

Imports of power went up by 23.5% to 1.188 billion kWh.
